Stuart Jordan- Nanki-Poo

Stewart is delighted to get to play the role of Nanki-Poo and return to the KMT for his first show with HMM. His previous appearances here include Jackson in The Hired Man, Dick in Dames at Sea and Jean-Michel in La Cage Aux Folles. Roles elsewhere include Diego/Zorro, Zorro the Musical, King Arthur, Spamalot, Freddy, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Joe Gillis, Sunset Boulevard, Bob, White Christmas, Danny, Grease, Percy/The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Austin, I Love You Because, Jerry, The Full Monty, Gaylord, Show Boat, Whizzer, Falsettos, Riff, West Side Story, Jack, Into the Woods, and Harold Hill, The Music Man.

Katey Callaghan - Yum-Yum

Katey attended London School of Musical Theatre. Whilst training, her credits included The Duchess in Alice in Wonderland, Mary Flynn in Merrily We Roll Along and Freida in Fabula. This will be Katey’s fifth show with HMM. She is very excited about playing someone who is not crazy or dead! Previous roles include a Boylan Sister in HMM's 2016 summer show Annie, The Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd in March 2017 and Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof in July 2017. Her last show with HMM was the concert,  West End Wishlist where she got to be two princesses in one show. Yum-Yum will be Katey’s first romantic lead and she is very much looking forward to the show kisses with Nanki-Poo!

Nick Ford - Ko-Ko

Nick’s last performance with HMM was the title role in Sweeney Todd, which had followed an attempt to take a break from performing - an attempt that lasted 8 months... More recently he swapped sharp razors for razor-sharp wit (...sarcasm...) as John Major in The Audience. Nick has been heavily involved with HMM for 20 years and this is the 50th HMM show that he has been involved in (including 15 as MD and 2 as Director). He has been lucky enough to enjoy a number of parts over the years including Kipps in Half A Sixpence, Higgins in My Fair Lady, Ko-Ko in The Mikado and Billy Bigelow in Carousel (all with HMM), Trekkie / Nicky in Avenue Q (for the KMT) and Leo Frank in Parade (with Forest Musical Theatre Company).

Ellen O'Shea - Katisha

Ellen started performing at the age of 6 and has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican and Palladium with VOX and at the O2 with the Les Miserables cast. The Mikado marked Ellen's HMM debut in 2013 and she is delighted to be back as Katisha in this hotter version. She has enjoyed principal roles with us in Calamity Jane, The Likes of Us and The Witches of Eastwick. Recently she has branched out to appear with IODS in South Pacific and took a trip to the seaside to play Rizzo in Solomon Artistes' Grease at The Palace, Westcliff. She is excited to be coming home to HMM and playing such a great role.

Dave Neary - Pooh-Bah

Dave has been a member of HMM for just a year, having joined the group for last year’s production of Sweeney Todd.  Since then he has enjoyed playing Mendel in Fiddler on the Roof, and singing in our last concert, West End Wishlist.  Dave spent many years performing with CADOS in Chingford, during which time he enjoyed playing roles including Wild Bill Hickok in Calamity Jane, Reecey in Our House and Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods.  He was also a Gentleman of Japan in their production of Hot Mikado at the KMT in 2001 and is delighted to be returning to this fantastic show 17 years on.

Jenny Draper - Pitti-Sing

Jenny joined HMM in 2014 and her previous appearances include Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance and Jane Smart in The Witches of Eastwick. Other credits include Peggy Murdock in The Ghost Train (Brookside Theatre), The City Is Ours trailer (Chocolate Films), Horrible Histories (Lion Television), Lathgertha in Heroes promo (Jorvik Viking Centre), Pinky for We Are Theatre (Roker Park), and Captain Polly for We Are Theatre (Lightwater Valley). If she could have dinner with any historical character it would be Jack the Ripper, and would rather fight a horse-sized rat than a dog-sized cockroach.

Jason Markham - The Mikado

Jason joined HMM in 2005 and had his first major role in Guys & Dolls, playing Benny Southstreet. He has gone on to play many lead roles for HMM, including Alfie Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Daddy Warbucks in Annie. He is currently Vice Chairman of HMM and, in recent years, has taken on more directing, including Hairspray and Grease for Solomon Artistes at the Palace Theatre, Southend. For HMM, he has directed two Old Time Music Hall concerts, Little Shop of Horrors at the KMT in 2015, and last year's summer show, Fiddler on the Roof, at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch.

Helen Pree - Peep-Bo & Juanito Calip-Bird - Pish-Tush

Since joining HMM in 2005, Helen has enjoyed playing some wonderful characters including Helene in Sweet Charity, Mrs Mullin in Carousel, Mrs Sowerberry in Oliver! and, most recently, Yente in Fiddler on the Roof. Helen played the role of Peep-Bo in HMM’s production of The Mikado and is delighted to have landed the same role in Hot Mikado. Also at the KMT, she played Monica Smithers in Daisy Pulls It Off and directed HMM’s Calamity Jane in 2014.

Juanito Calip-Bird, or JC, is a graduate of Physiotherapy from the Philippines, but has always been into music and the arts. He won an online singing competition in 2015 and since then has joined online singing groups playing roles in musicals such as Les Miserables. He took up amateur musical theatre in London in 2016, credits include The Baker in Into The Woods and Motel in Fiddler on the Roof for CAOS and Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors for Walthamstow Community Production.

Siobhan Schofield - Director & Choreographer

Hot Mikado is the third amateur musical Siobhan has directed, and her second for HMM. Siobhan trained as an actor at the Poor School and has been performing at the KMT for 14 years, including performing with HMM in 2013. Professional roles have included Gwendolen in the original cast of Handbag!, several theatre-in-education roles that saw her perform to over 200,000 school children, and two UK tours as Frida in Abba Gold. She is experienced in teaching both drama and Irish dancing. Siobhan has a theatre company touring schools with an anti-bullying show, and has several writing projects on the go. Siobhan can be seen in The Wind in the Willows at the Kenneth More Theatre in April.

Ben Summers - Musical Director

Ben studied at Balliol College, Oxford, and the Guildhall School of Music where he played under many conductors, including Sir Colin Davis, Paolo Olmi and George Benjamin. Today, he has a varied playing career working with London Orchestras and X Factor winners; he has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, done live radio broadcasts and recorded at Abbey Road. Ben has conducted many shows at the Kenneth More Theatre including State Fair, Carousel, Hello, Dolly!, The Pajama Game, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, All Shook Up, Parade, By Jeeves and Sister Act. This will be his third show as Musical Director for HMM following The Pirates of Penzance and Annie in 2016.
