Havering Music Makers

Previous Shows - Lullaby Of Broadway

Lullaby Of Broadway
QUEEN'S THEATRE
Billet Lane, Hornchurch, Essex
Sunday 27th January & Sunday 3rd February 1991
Evenings 7.45pm

Also performed at Campion School, Hornchurch and in Swansea.

Lullaby Of Broadway was a different approach to our winter concerts as we moved across the ocean and presented songs by subject (a change that would eventually result in the current format) and also included a cabaret section where the audience should imagine themselves in the lounge of a hotel just off Broadway, a piano is playing and people drop in and maybe sing a song! Some of the songs chosen to be in Lullaby Of Broadway were:

Give My Regards To Broadway • Brush Up Your Shakespeare • Making Whoopee • Night & Day • If I Were A Rich Man • We Kiss In a Shadow Sunrise Sunset • Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better) Send In The Clowns Guys & Dolls I'm Gonna Wash That Man

Once again we took this concert on tour, and this time we went to another different country! We went off to Wales, to Swansea, and performed our concert to the locals there. Once again, great fun was had on the trip and hopefully the locals enjoyed us!

For Havering Music Makers' production:
Co-Producers - Maurice Williams & Andrea Farrow
Musical Director - Alan Steel*
Accompanist - Stuart Rush

*This show marked an end of an era for HMM as it was the final show that was under the musical direction of Alan Steel after 16 years dedicated service. Alan moved away from the area and HMM lost a very valued member!
