In February 2008, Havering Music Makers returned to East London in 1888, setting of the musical Jack the Ripper which was such a huge success with cast and audience alike in 2006.

The Matchgirls looks at another important historical event - the rising of the ladies and girls who worked in the match factories in terrible conditions amidst fears of exposure to phosphorous.

Not a topic for a musical you might think - but this musical has it all, great music, good laughs and a touching storyline that will leave you certain you've had a good time.

The production team for this one was:

Director - Bill Edwards
Musical Director - Nick Ford
Choreographer - Louise Banham

Show photos will also appear here soon!
